MICR is an acronym for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. The MICR printing process protects against fraud with specialized magnetic toner and standardized fonts. This printing technology allows banks to process business and personal checks by reading the magnetized type at the bottom of each check. 

MICR toner cartridges are laser toner cartridges with an added amount of iron oxide to ensure correct processing by banks and other financial institutions. 

The big name brands such as HP, Dell, Brother and Okidata do not manufacture MICR cartridges for check printing. MICR Toner International has a team of master engineers that create special blends of MICR toner for brand new printers, color printers and discontinued printers. 

We have the biggest selection of MICR toner cartridges in the U.S. and we custom make many of our MICR cartridges to hold twice or three times the normal capacity (we call these our Jumbo Yield). Doubling or tripling the amount of magnetic toner reduces the need to buy MICR toner cartridges as often and keeps waste out of our landfills.    

Remove the cartridge and reinstall it until you hear it click into place. You may have to give it an extra push until it engages. 

If it still doesn't fit, please call us, because you may have the wrong size or cartridge number.

Shut off your printer and check to make sure it is properly plugged in, with no loose cords or wires. Make sure the toner and drum proponents are properly installed, and power the printer back on. This is what many of the original manufacturers advise in service manuals, including HP. 

If the error message persists, call us with a detailed account of when the error appeared, what type of error it is, what model printer you have, and what steps you have taken to resolve it. A member of our tech team will be happy to help.

First, simply turning on and off the printer may fix the problem. If this does not solve the problem, perform a drum reset. This may vary from printer to printer, but the basics are the same:

1.   Install the new drum.

2.   Shut the Power off and open the front cover.

3.   Press and hold the "Go" button until all the LEDs flash. For Dell Printers, press and hold the "Cancel" button. 

              For Okidata Printers, Press the "Menu" button three times. 

4.   Turn the Power on and close the front cover. 

Please be aware that this will not work for every printer. To be absolutely sure how to reset the drum for your particular model, consult your service manual.

All our cartridges are tested for print quality before shipping. We also pack each item with extra padding and affix Caution and Fragile stickers to each box. 

Despite the extreme care we take in packaging, sometimes cartridges are damaged during shipping. In this case, we are happy to immediately send a replacement free of charge.
